Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, city schools CEO Warren Morgan take to streets to recruit students for Summer Soundtrack Program
CLEVELAND — It is a sight you do not see every day: a big city mayor and the leader of the public school system going door-to-door together. But that is exactly what happened Monday evening in Cleveland as part of an effort to keep kids and the streets safe this summer.
High school basketball: Shot clock implemented at Euclid summer league
The OHSAA might not have a shot clock, but that did not stop Euclid administrator Vance Marbury and Lorain native Steve Newton. As much of an eyesore basketball with no shot clock could be for Marbury, he introduced it to local Northeast Ohio teams in the Cleveland Am Pro’s third annual of the 3rd Coast Hoops Euclid Summer League.
St. Joe’s Goes Back-to-Back in Ohio
St. Joseph Academy has won seven Rugby Ohio girls’ high school 15s championships since 2013, but the 2023 and 2024 titles mark the first time that the Jaguars have gone back to back. The Cleveland-based program also fielded varsity and J.V. teams, and not just in name and numbers. The second side played a nine-game spring schedule, which bodes well for the continuation of this successful legacy.

Lakeland Community College names David Cummins treasurer, VP for administrative services
The Lakeland Community College Board has selected David Cummins as the school’s new vice president for administrative services and college treasurer, effective July 1. Cummins has served in multiple roles for the Ohio Department of Higher Education since 2017, recently as associate vice chancellor of financial planning and oversight and previously as interim vice chancellor of finance and data management.
