Poets N Pirates gets the ‘booty’ at Buffalo
Hamburg, N.Y. — Poets N Pirates ($2.20) collected the ‘booty’ for the second straight week at Buffalo Raceway as he turned back the late charge from Stars An Stones in the featured $9,000 Class B trotting event on Friday afternoon (May 24). He managed to collect the neck victory in 2:00.3 over the fast track.
Springville Art Crawl, June 1
This year the annual Springville Art Crawl will take place on June 1, from 3-8pm. Stores and other businesses in the historic downtown shopping area in Springville will once again become one big temporary showplace for art, including various types of paintings and photography, and the surrounding streets will become one big temporary marketplace for arts and crafts, including jewelry and decorative items. As always, visitors will be enjoying not only the artwork, chosen by art experts, that will be displayed on walls, and browsing amidst the many arts and crafts vendors’ tables, but also various other forms of entertainment, including interactive areas, food trucks, and much more. The Art Crawl truly offers a lot of fun for the whole family.
Severe weather cancels Wednesday card at Buffalo
Hamburg, NY — Due to severe thunderstorms occurring just before post time, Buffalo Raceway officials were forced to cancel the 12-race card on Wednesday afternoon (May 22). Racing will resume on Friday afternoon (May 24) at 2:30 p.m. with a 10-race card. There’s a $548 carryover in the Pick-5 which begins in the second race.

Cuba Residents Face Water Issues After Pipe Breaks
CUBA, NY — A contractor working on a water improvement project accidentally broke a pipe at about 1 p.m. Thursday. According to a Facebook post from the Village of Cuba, the accident has left village residents without water, with decreased water pressure or with roiled water.
