EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A yoga class in East Longmeadow is intended to provide relief for those struggling with their mental health.

‘Heartsong Yoga’ and The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Western Massachusetts are teaming up to bring ‘mindfulness yoga.’ It’s aimed at providing a safe and supportive environment for people to explore their mind-body connection. They will also learn valuable therapeutic and gentle yoga poses for managing their mental health, reducing anxiety and stress.

The instructor of the class tells us that it is her goal to remove stigma surrounding mental health and bring healing to those struggling. “We can all over come, we all have hope inside us, just coming to peace with what has happened in your life, knowing you can move forward, that there is hope, knowing we can end the stigma and together we can,” said Kateri Walsh, Yoga instructor, NAMI Vice President.

The class will take place on May 30th at Heartsong Yoga on Main Street. All proceeds will support NAMI services and programs.
