EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — East Hartford is about to get a little brighter after dozens of cherry blossom trees were planted for Earth Day.

The 35 cherry blossoms planted Monday at Rentschler Field were donated by the U.S. and Japan Society of Connecticut, according to a post on Gov. Ned Lamont’s X account.

“A great thing to do on Earth Day!” he wrote.

Cherry blossoms can also be found at Wooster Square in New Haven, Bushnell Park in Hartford, downtown Greenwich, Mill River Park in Stamford and on the Yale University campus in New Haven.
