11-year-old cancer survivor serves as Honorary Cubs Bat Kid
CHICAGO - An 11-year-old cancer survivor from Oak Lawn met his favorite athletes from the Chicago Cubs while serving at the Honorary Cubs Bat Kid at Saturday's game. Marty Brogan was diagnosed with stage IV rhabdomyosarcoma at age 4. Today, Marty is in remission but still sees his doctors at Advocate Children's Hospital regularly for follow-up care.

Kenwood boys track and field wins second straight outdoor city championship
Kenwood Academy’s track and field team has done it again. For the second consecutive season, the Broncos are Chicago Public League champions. The Broncos clinched the outdoor title at a meet last Saturday, May 11 with a final score of 165 points and nine gold medals. Lane Tech and Whitney Young high schools tied for second with 77 points.
