Light & Power Opening New Service Center on Hall Street
Traverse City Light & Power (TCLP) is opening a second customer service center at 130 Hall Street effective June 10. The new center will "provide customers with a second point of contact for any inquiries or concerns," according to a TCLP release. The city-owned utility's original service center is located at 1131 Hastings Street. Both centers will operate Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm.

Grand Traverse Bay YMCA hosts ‘Senior Palooza’
TRAVERSE CITY - An informal event at the west ymca in traverse city today. They hosted Senior Palooza, a way for community members to come in and check out all that the area has to offer for their age bracket. There were booths set up for organizations like TART Trails, BATA, and more ready to assist those elderly members of society become and remain more active. The YMCA says hosting events like these is important to making sure seniors keep that spring in their step. “So it’s very important for us and our active older population in the region to help fight social isolation, break down barriers to resources that we have at the Y to offer everyone, and also our local organizations as well.” Says Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Senior Director of Health and Wellness Liz Bloom. Coast Guard does special ops fast-rope training while hovering over the S.S. Badger
LUDINGTON, MI – A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter hovered over the S.S. Badger car ferry on Lake Michigan last week for a special ops training exercise, officials said. The aircrew from USCG Air Station Traverse City conducted fast-rope training with the USCG Maritime Security Response Team, known as MSRT. Personnel slid down a rope to reach the deck of the 410-foot historic ship.
