    Lyric Opera of the North presents the opera ‘La Bohème’

    DULUTH — It’s Paris. The love stories are tumultuous. The friends are chosen family. The highs and the lows are operatic. And it all sounds like Puccini.

    Lyric Opera of the North ‘s (LOON) first production of Puccini’s classic, featuring passionate lovers, struggling artists and soaring singing will be performed June 14 at 7 p.m. and June 16 at 3 p.m. The opera is about two hours 30 minutes including one intermission. Two performances only.

    This is one of the most beloved operas of all time.

    “La Bohème,” composed by Giacomo Puccini with Libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. Sung in Italian with English supertitles. Appropriate for adults and children 10 and up.

    Performances are at the Marshall Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on the UMD campus, 1215 Ordean Ct.

    Tickets are $39 to $59. Students with valid student ID $12.
