Montoursville, Pa. — A woman who claimed she was "royal" reportedly refused to leave a grocery store parking lot and had to be removed by police.

Cortney Lynn Sheesley, 42, of Dubois, had been argumentative with staff at the Weis Markets, 801 N. Loyalsock Ave., earlier in the morning of May 5, according to police. She was asked to leave, but she remained in the parking lot, they added.

When Trp. Matthew Doherty arrived just after 8 a.m., he found Sheesley in her car. She told police she had been in the lot since the day before because she had run out of gas and she planned on staying. Sheesley also allegedly said she didn't have to pay for gas for her car because she was "royal."

Even after telling Sheesley she had to leave the premises, she refused, charges say. Troopers offered to give her a ride to someplace within a reasonable distance, but she also refused that, Doherty noted.

After threatening to break her window in order to pull her from the car and forcibly remove her from the property, Sheesley agreed to unlock her door, police said.

She was taken into custody and charged with defiant trespass.
