Letter: Five years have been wasted!

Think about this. If the state and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) had done what former Governor Holcomb announced in 2021 to start improvements on existing US 231 through Dubois and Martin County, we would already be experiencing the benefit of passing lanes and improved intersections. When first announced, $75 million was to be allocated to these improvements. Even if the cost doubled to $150 million, it is a fraction of the projected $3.4+ billion Mid-States Corridor.

Road closure planned for State Road 145 in Dubois County

The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 145 in Dubois County. Beginning on or around Thursday, November 12, crews will begin a daily road closure on State Road 145 near Birdseye. This closure will occur between Carlisle Road and Conservation Club Road. This closure will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays.

Oak Hill – Bergdolt Intersection Closure

Beginning on Monday morning Nov 9th, the Oak Hill Road and Bergdolt Road intersection will be completely closed in all directions and will remain closed through the late afternoon of Nov 25th. This closure is necessary to allow for the storm sewer, water main, underdrains, curb & gutter, roadway reconstruction, traffic signal conduits, and paving work to be completed through this intersection. This work is all part of the Oak Hill Road reconstruction project. During this closure, motorists on the east side of the intersection will have to use Bergdolt Road, Elmridge Drive, Congress Avenue to detour around the intersection. Motorists on the west side of the intersection will have to use Clover Drive, Eastbrooke Drive, and Ridgewood Drive to detour around the closure.
