Yereance falls in state singles
Griffin Yereance, sophomore at Boothbay Region High School, lost in the boys’ Round of 52 state singles tournament held at Bates College in Lewiston Friday, May 17. Yereance, who plays second singles for BRHS, fell to Liam O’Dwyer, Camden’s third singles player, 1-6, 5-7.
Higgins wins 2 track meet individual events
The Boothbay/Wiscasset girls’ track team finished third May 14 in an eight-team Mountain Valley Conference meet in Readfield. Boothbay scored 111 points. Maranacook won with 165.5 points. Madison finished second with 128. Three Boothbay/Wiscasset runners also won four individual events. Karen Higgins won the 1600M and 3200M races. Olivia Rittall won the 400M dash. Maddie Orchard won the 800M dash.
Seahawks now 7-0 with win over Carrabec
The Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team continued its undefeated regular season with a 5-0 win at home over the Carrabec Cobras (1-7) Friday, May 17. The Seahawks remain on top of the Class C South standings at 7-0, Maine Central Institute is in second place at 8-1 and Spruce Mountain is third at 6-1.

In a match-up of undefeated teams, the Boothbay Region High School boys tennis team remained undefeated, improving to 6-0 with a 5-0 win at home over the Spruce Mountain Phoenix on Thursday, May 16. With the win, Boothbay moved into the top spot in Class C South while Spruce Mountain (6-1) dropped to second in the Heal point standings.
