DOYLESTOWN, PA—Doylestown Township has installed four-way stop signs at a busy intersection near the North Broad Street entrance to and exit off of Route 611.

On Tuesday, township maintenance crews reconfigured the intersection of East Sandy Ridge Road and North Broad Street with the four-way stop signs. Previously, only traffic on North Broad Street had stop signs.

Visibility at the intersection is limited, so getting onto East Sandy Ridge Road from North Broad Street could be challenging.

Lt. Charles Zeigler of the Doylestown Township Police Department said that a complaint from a resident about visibility at the intersection led the township to conduct a traffic study. That study led the township to add stop signs on East Sandy Ridge Road to make the intersection safer.

Flashing signals have been posted at the intersection to give drivers time to adjust to the changes at the intersection. Township officials are asking drivers to be cautious until drivers are aware of the changes.
