CROOKSTON GIRLS BASKETBALL FALLS TO BARNESVILLE 71-45
The Crookston Pirates Girls Basketball team fell on the road to the Barnesville Trojans 71-45 in a Section 8AA First Round Playoff game in Barnesville. FIRST HALF- Starting off the game, Crookston’s Chloe Boll knocked down a three-ball as the shot clock expired for the first basket. Isabelle Smith for Crookston hit a short shot for the Pirates to give Crookston an early 5-2 lead. Smith had a layup in transition for the Pirates to cut into Barnesville’s lead at 11-8. Naomi Johnson got an offensive rebound for the Pirates and got a putback layup to make it 16-10, but Barnesville was still in the lead. Chloe Boll had a pair of drives to the basket, where she used the glass to bank in her shots as Barnesville held their lead at 22-14. Johnson banked in a three later in the half to make it 24-18 with Barnesville on top. Isabelle Smith hit a late three for Crookston as Barnesville commanded a 36-23 lead at halftime. Abigail John had 26 first-half points for Barnesville.
