A 63-year-old Brownsdale, Minnesota man was fatally crushed while working for a manufacturing company in Dodge Center on Monday.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said it happened just after 10 a.m. at Con-Tech Manufacturing, at 65740 Highway 56.

Deputies arrived and found staff doing CPR on the victim, later identified as Teofilo Gonzalez, who was "cutting crossbeam support on a dolly that was supporting a 5,000-pound mixer drum at the time."

Employees told police the dolly failed and the mixer fell on top of Gonzalez.

His coworkers used two forklifts to remove the drum and attempted CPR. After EMS personnel arrived a short time later, Gonzalez was pronounced dead just before 10:30 a.m.

Con-Tech employees said they are contacting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

An investigation remains active on Tuesday.
