DART passes new budget as riders urge for more funding sources
Dallas Area Rapid Transit leaders pushed through with a new budget months after reaching agreements with cities over local funding. During a Tuesday meeting, DART’s board of directors voted to approve the $1.4 billion budget that includes returning some local funding to its 12 member cities. It’s part of an agreement the agency made with city leaders earlier this year called the General Mobility Program.

Snider Plaza Property Owners to Fund Employee Parking
The University Park city council has approved the final step in a plan that will eventually shift the cost of offsite employee parking to Snider Plaza property owners. The council’s Sept. 15 vote puts to rest the controversial question of whether to implement paid parking in the shopping center, where spots are often in high demand. Last year, a volunteer task force recommended charging an hourly parking fee. But that plan never received city council support.
