Temporary load limit placed on I-94’s exit 64 bridge

DICKINSON, ND ( KXNET ) — A load limit has been placed on the interstate overhead bridge at Exit 64 on Interstate 94 in Dickinson after routine inspection by the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) revealed that maintenance is needed.

There are no safety concerns for regular traffic, but as a precautionary measure, no overload permits will be issued for this structure until repairs are completed.

The bridge will be restricted to a legal weight of 105,500 lbs. gross. NDDOT expects the restriction to be in place until this fall, when a repair project will be completed.

The NDDOT will be closely monitoring the bridge to ensure the continued safety of the traveling public.
