Diboll's DeJesus gets national weekly award for shortstop
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KLTV) - Former Diboll Lumberjack Coby DeJesus has received national recognition for his play at shortstop last week. The College Baseball Hall of Fame announced the Houston sophomore is the Brooks Wallace Award Shortstop of the Week. DeJesus batted 11-for-20 and had four RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases as the Cougars won three games last week.

Golf course architects Trey Kemp and John Colligan have started a project to restore the playing conditions at Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin in eastern Texas. Originally designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge, Crown Colony opened in 1979. NORMAN, Okla. (KTRE) - Former Lufkin Panther Reid Hensley pitched an inning in scoreless relief as part of Oklahoma’s 3-1 win over Wichita State on Tuesday. The junior entered the game at the start of the sixth inning with OU up, 3-1. Hensley struck out the first batter before the second grounded out. The third batter hit a triple but was stranded when Hensley got his second strikeout. Hensley threw 15 pitches.
