UPDATE: Two arrested for alleged shots fired at Empire Buffet parking lot in DeWitt

Update at 9:30 a.m. on 4-29-24: The DeWitt Police Department Police says that at the time of the incident, five individuals were detained following descriptions given from witnesses.

Shell casings from a .40 caliber were found next to car in the parking lot. The car was owned by one of the people detained by officers. Police searched the car and located a loaded .40 caliber Taurus TH40C handgun.

Only two have been charged.

20-year-old Izaiah O. Marshall , of Syracuse, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree.

19-year-old Testa O. Uriahy, of Syracuse, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree.

The other three who were detained were released from custody.

DeWitt Police say they are unsure who the target was for the shots fired.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — DeWitt police are investigating shots fired in the parking lot of Empire Buffet at 3179 Erie Boulevard East.

DeWitt police were called to the scene around 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

No one was injured, but a vehicle was damaged by gunfire, DeWitt police said.

Four people of interest are being questioned at this time. DeWitt police also said there is no threat to public safety.
