1. Eastern Market Flower Day
Spring will be in full bloom at Eastern Market’s Flower Day! Featuring vendors from all over the Midwest, this year will include additional festivities for all ages. The Tuesday Markets will also have flower selections from Eastern Market growers. Find flower vendors in Shed 6 from Mother’s Day until Father’s Day, sunrise to sunset. Flowers will also be available for purchase in-person at the weekly Saturday Markets throughout Flower Season. Get all the goodies for your summer garden and experience the beauty of Detroit’s historic Eastern Market.

2. Zoo Brew 2024
Hop on down to the Detroit Zoo for the first after-hours event of the year! Zoo Brew 2024 is all about frogs. Explore how the Detroit Zoological Society (DZS) supports exciting conservation projects to protect Panamanian golden frogs alongside partners like Project Golden Frog and the El Valle Amphibian Conservation Center in Panama. Zoo Brew features a local selection of delicious brews to enjoy as you adventure through the Zoo’s 125 acres.

3. Motor City Comic Con
Michigan’s largest and longest running comic book and pop culture convention returns this weekend to the Suburban Collection Showplace this weekend! Motor City Comic Con will feature actors from the TV, movie, and streaming industries, along with the most creative artists, writers, and comic book creators. This year’s guests include Charlie Hunnam, Helen Hunt, Zachary Levi, Ernie Hudson, and Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner!

4. Big Bounce America 2024
The Big Bounce America 2024 tour is bringing the bounciest, most action-packed experience of the year to Steffens Park in Fraser over the next two weekends. Featuring The World’s Largest Bounce House, The Big Bounce America is the biggest touring inflatable event in the world and includes seven massive inflatable attractions. The Big Bounce America continues to turn up the wow-factor and push the limits of family-friendly entertainment to new heights!

5. Dequindre Cut Freight Yard Opening Party
The Dequindre Cut Freight Yard returns for the 2024 season with a celebration to kick off summer on Friday, May 17! The Dequindre Cut Freight Yard Opening Party will feature food from Big Bo's Grill, beer and cocktails from the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard bar, ice cream, bonfires, free s'mores, karaoke with Karaoke Kingz and games and activities for all ages. For those looking to explore the Cut, Motown Roller Club will be hosting a group ride along the Dequindre Cut. Bring your skates, bikes or skateboards down to the Freight Yard to join the fun!
