Massive fire breaks out at Tailfins Restaurant in Destin

DESTIN, Fla. ( WMBB ) — A popular seafood restaurant, Tailfins, caught fire Saturday. The fire started just before its scheduled lunch opening around 10:50 a.m.

Emergency services rushed to the scene as flames engulfed the establishment, prompting a swift and coordinated response from 8 agencies including Destin, Fort Walton, South Walton, Okaloosa, Ocean City, and North Bay.

EMS Commander says a few employees suffered minor smoke inhalation during the incident and are currently receiving treatment. There have been no reports of serious injuries.

Two firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Firefighters had the site under control around noon.
