Driver arrested after jumping fence to flee troopers in west Phoenix
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A driver has been arrested after attempting to run away from law enforcement on the Loop 101 in west Phoenix Wednesday night. According to the Department of Public Safety, just after 9:30 p.m., a trooper attempted to pull over a Dodge Journey SUV for recklessly driving and speeding on the Loop 101 near Glendale Avenue.

Man dies after being hit by car in central Phoenix
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police are investigating after a man was struck by a car in central Phoenix on Tuesday night. Jimmy Contreras, 68, later died from his injuries. Officers responded to the area of 16th Street and Thomas Road around 9:30 p.m. and found Contreras seriously injured. He was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.
