Updated: Authorities Release Victims Name in Off-Road Motorcycle Crash in Polk County

(Des Moines) The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim in the off-road motorcycle accident near Maxwell. According to the latest press release, 16-year-old Zachary Brennecke of Des Moines died in the crash.

Polk County Deputies were called to the 8300 block of NE 118th Avenue at 6:22 p.m. on Saturday. It was reported that two juveniles were riding separate motorcycles in the area, and one of them had been involved in an accident north of NE 118th Ave. and west of the South Skunk River.

Deputies and Medics with the Maxwell Fire Department arrived on the scene and located Zachary Brennecke, who had sustained critical injuries. Emergency personnel immediately began life-saving treatment but were unsuccessful, and Zachary was pronounced deceased at the scene.
