The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves engaged in a thrilling seven-game series during the 2024 Western Conference Semifinals. After a hard-fought battle, the defending champions came up short, as they were eliminated following a 98-90 defeat in Game 7.

Nikola Jokic , who won the third MVP of his NBA career earlier in the playoffs, was visibly frustrated after the early exit. So much so that Jokic exchanged a few heated words with Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards near the end of the game.

Edwards waved the away crowd goodbye, contributing 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 44 minutes of playing time. Nikola questioned Anthony's antics, which led to a tense conversation between the two superstars.

The exchange was later transcribed by Twitter user @legendz_nba, who is known for posting similar videos.

Jokic suffered arguably the worst playoff defeat of his NBA career

Nikola is usually praised for his calm demeanor on the court, regardless of the final score of the game. However, fans saw a different side of Jokic during Game 7 of the series against the Timberwolves.

The Joker was understandably frustrated as the Nuggets blew a 20-point lead in the second half of the game. The Timberwolves faced a 15-point deficit at the half, but instead of losing hope, the franchise completed the largest comeback in Game 7 history during the postseason.

As for the Serbian center, he tallied 34 points, 19 rebounds, and seven assists in 47 minutes of playing time. In addition to Jokic’s behemoth stat line, Jamal Murray posted 35 points as well. Unfortunately, the dynamic duo's combined effort of 69 points wasn’t enough to hold back the Timberwolves' Big 3.

Edwards dropped a legendary quote after win vs. the Nuggets

Ant may be playing just in the third NBA playoff run of his career, but the 22-year-old has already become a fan favorite. One key reason behind the young star's increase in popularity is his knack for dropping iconic quotes during postgame interviews.

Anthony continued that trend when talking with NBA legend-turned-analyst Charles Barkley. Barkley claimed he hadn’t stepped foot in probably over 20 years, to which Edwards responded with an iconic three-word response.

    “Bring ya a**!” Ant exclaimed.

The Timberwolves will now gear up to face Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving’s Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 Western Conference Finals. Considering the Wolves finished third in the WC standings, they are expected to enter the series as the favorites over the fifth-seeded Mavericks.
