Gilbert Arenas wasn't too pleased when he found out that Rudy Gobert would miss Game 2 between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets due to the birth of his first child. On the latest episode of Gil's Arena , Arenas called out Gobert.

"It's a baby, bro. It gonna be there when you get back," Arenas said. "... Whatever you think you about to do with the baby, he gonna be sleep... I get that you wanna be with your wife and smile and stuff, [but] your good NBA healthcare insurance is because of you playing."

That was an absolutely terrible take from Arenas and he unsurprisingly was blasted by NBA fans on X for it.

One said this was yet another horrible take from Arenas.

A fan was tired of hearing Arenas talk such nonsense.

One said they would not take advice from a man who brought a gun into the locker room.

A fan called Arenas a clown.

One fan said they had lost respect for Arenas after this take.

The birth of their child is a momentous occasion in a person's life and no one should ever be criticized for prioritizing it over everything else. Gobert should be applauded for wanting to be at the side of his partner to support her during labor and for wanting to witness the birth.

I would have looked at the 31-year-old in a bit of a negative light if he had chosen not to be there for her and the baby, and stayed with his teammates in Denver. It also appears Gobert did try to play in Game 2 after his child was born on Monday morning. The game was at night, and Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch revealed they did consider the possibility of him flying to Denver, but it just didn't work out.

"I mean, there was definitely consideration, and we looked at the timing of it all and I think just the timing of his circumstances, plus some weather made it really tough," Finch said. "And it didn't feel like he was going to be able to get here and be prepared to play."

    (starts at 2:19 mark):

Gobert had played well in Game 1, with 6 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 3 blocks, and you wondered just how big of a blow his not being there would be for Minnesota. In the end, though, his absence didn't end up costing the Timberwolves. They stunningly blew out the Nuggets 106-80 to take a 2-0 lead in the series and are now in the driver's seat.

    Dwight Howard Applauded Rudy Gobert

While Arenas was not too pleased about Gobert missing the game, another former NBA player had no problem with it. Dwight Howard took to X to applaud and congratulate the three-time All-Star.

"Great father! Understand we are humans, not just some props to place bets on congrats Rudy."

Now, that is how you would want someone to respond upon hearing that news. As Howard stated, basketball players are human beings and there is nothing wrong about missing a game, even if it's in the playoffs, for such an occasion.

Gobert will be back for Game 3 and he will have a big role to play the rest of the way in this series. While the Timberwolves clearly have the upper hand right now, you know the Nuggets won't go down without a fight. Minnesota will need all its horses to seal the deal here.
