    What will the weather look like for the first weekend of May?

    DENVER ( KDVR ) — Despite the past two dreary weekends in Denver, the first weekend of May will kick off with sunny skies and only a slight chance of rain.

    Denver weather weaved from 70-degree temperatures to rain and snow in April . Last month was the wettest April in the 21st century .

    The stormy weather has landed particularly on the weekends over the past two weeks, with measurable snow this past weekend and rain and snow across the Front Range on April 19-20.

    Denver weather: Afternoon storm chances move in Wednesday

    While the start of May brings light rain on Wednesday , this weekend, Denver will be sunny with temperatures reaching as high as almost 80 degrees.

    Weekend forecast

    The end of the workweek on Friday brings partly cloudy skies and the chance for a spotty shower with temperatures in the 60s, according to the Pinpoint Weather team.

    On Saturday, there will be a breeze with temperatures in the 60s and partly cloudy skies. Sunday will be the warmest day with temperatures hitting almost 80 degrees.

    Chances for a weekend storm

    On Friday, there will be a 20% chance of rain starting in the afternoon and stopping shortly after dark, according to the Pinpoint Weather team.

    Denver may see showers on Saturday toward the afternoon as well. There’s a 10% chance of rain after noon and into the night.

    Luckily, Sunday will be mostly sunny with no rain in the forecast.

    While there are only slight showers in the Mile High City, the weather will be mixed in the mountains depending on the elevation.
