    Denver weather: Warm and breezy Wednesday, but with chance of thunderstorms

    As clouds increase across the Denver skies on Wednesday so will the chance of thunderstorms, but temperatures are expected to reach the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

    Wednesday will be mostly sunny earlier in the day, with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m., the weather agency said. Wind speeds of 8-15 mph could come with gusts as high as 24 mph.

    On Wednesday night, the chance of precipitation increases to 60%, with an overnight low of 41 degrees, according to NWS.

    Here is the extended forecast from the National Weather Service:

    Thursday: A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. East-southeast wind 6 to 14 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph.

    Friday: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 68. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west-northwest 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph.

    Saturday: A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Sunny, with a high near 69.

    Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Breezy.
