It was a nice, quiet and mild start to the week work! And daytime highs will climb even more Tuesday around the Denver metro area.

We'll have partly cloudy skies overnight along the I-25 corridor with scattered showers in the northern mountains. The heaviest rain/snow moves in overnight as a cold front slides across the High Country.

The wet weather won't impact the Denver metro and plains. Look for mostly sunny skies Tuesday as highs climb into the lower 70s by the afternoon. The only caveat to the forecast will be the winds. It'll be a bit breezy with gusts between 20 and 40 mph.

Our next chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms arrives on Wednesday, with highs once again in the 70s. Another cold front drops into the state, and it'll drop daytime highs dramatically on Thursday. We'll barely make it into the lower 50s with a few lingering showers.

We're watching for a slight chance of showers late Friday night otherwise it'll be a seasonal day. Look for highs in the mid 60s Friday and Saturday with mid 70s and sunshine on deck Sunday.
