WALTON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – A little after 11:30 p.m. last night a Walton County fire truck was involved in a crash with another vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 90 and County Road 1087.

The fire truck was heading east on U.S. 90 and approaching the intersection of County Road 1087 with its lights and sirens on.

The other car, an SUV driven by a 26-year-old woman from Defuniak Springs, was heading south on County Road 1087 and nearing the intersection when a Walton County ambulance traveling on the same road emerged with its emergency lights on.

In an attempt to yield to the ambulance the driver of the SUV sped up in an effort to cross over U.S. 90 but failed to yield to the fire truck and collided with the truck’s left side.

Thankfully no one in either vehicle was injured as a result of the accident.
