Big Turnout for Sparta Recreation's 2024 Trout Derby
SPARTA, NJ – Young and aspiring anglers turned out to the pond at Station Park for the 2024 trout derby. The Sparta Recreation Department’s event was supported by the Sparta Municipal Alliance this year. Approximately 75 children tried to snag one of the 60 trout that were stocked in the pond. The Municipal Alliance’s donation was used to purchase trout from the Musky Trout Hatchery that stocked the pond.
