A rookie Detroit cop pointed his department-issued Taser stun gun at his 10-year-old nephew and then fired it in an attempt to threaten the boy, according to Wayne County prosecutors. Man charged with assaulting federal officer following chaotic arrest in Warren
WARREN, Mich. – A man accused of dragging officers with his car during a chaotic arrest is facing federal charges. The incident happened March 29 at a Days Inn near 14 Mile Road in Warren. According to court documents, Carl Travis was wanted on several outstanding warrants from across the state, including stalking, assault, domestic violence and more. U.S. Marshalls were alerted that he was at the Days Inn and attempted to arrest him. Agents said he tried to escape in his car, dragging several federal agents and nearly striking others with the vehicle.

University of Michigan lecturers union reaches deal, avoiding strike
ANN ARBOR, MI - A salary dispute was resolved between the University of Michigan and its lecturers union, likely ending a potential strike during finals week. Leaders for the Lecturers’ Employee Organization, comprised of about 1,800 lecturers on the Ann Arbor, Dearborn and Flint campuses, reached a tentative agreement with the university Friday evening, April 26. The union still has to approve the contract in a vote next week to ratify it.

Until April 29, 2024, the date will be the same, forward and backward. Looking ahead, because palindromes are rare and sometimes considered lucky, the next few years will also contain consecutive palindrome dates, just moving one month later. Those will fall in May 2025, June 2026, July 2027, August 2028 and September 2029.
