    Dayton police officer pleads guilty to criminal charges

    DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A Dayton police officer accused of misconduct has now pled guilty.

    According to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, officer Joseph Setty pled guilty last week to one charge of unlawful restraint and two charges of disorderly conduct following an investigation by Ohio Bureau of Investigation.

    Setty was placed on administrative leave in March 2023 when he was identified as a subject in an alleged misconduct incident. The investigation is related to incidents that took place between February 2021 and February 2023.

    Dayton Police Department shared a statement with 2 NEWS, reading in part, “Joseph Setty will remain on administrative leave, and an administrative investigation will be conducted at the conclusion of any court proceedings.”
