    Call for police backup at Dayton Mall

    MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A reported fight at the Dayton Mall ended with adult and child facing obstruction of justice charges.

    A spokesperson for Miami Township Police Department told 2 NEWS officers were called around 12:30 p.m. to the 2700 block of Miamisburg Centerville Road in Miami Twp. Officers were sent to the mall for a reported fight.

    When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly discovered security “in an exchange” with other individuals regarding a jewelry store dispute, according to police.

    Increased police presence expected in Miami Township

    At one point, the spokesperson said the exchange got “disorderly,” so a signal 99, call for immediate assistance, was issued. It was canceled “a short time later.”

    Police say an adult male and juvenile female were arrested, and are being charged with obstruction of justice. The male is also facing a felony vandalism charge for allegedly kicking the door of a police cruiser.

    No one was reportedly injured as a result of the incident.
