PennDOT opens new driver's license center in Chippewa Twp.
CHIPPEWA TWP. ― A new driver's license and REAL ID center for Beaver County is opening Tuesday, just a few doors away from the previous center in Chippewa Plaza. PennDOT announced in a release that the address will remain unchanged for the center at 2580 Constitution Blvd. in Chippewa Township and offers a large parking area and free wi-fi for its customers. Hours of operation for the new facility also will remain the same, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Smith Twp. road to close for culvert work
Two areas of Smith Township in Mahoning County will see road work over the next two weeks. Starting Monday, State Route 14 just west of Beloit Snodes Road will be closed for a week, through June 15, for a culvert replacement. The detour will be State Route 534 to U.S. Route 224 to State Route 14.
Initial cleanup efforts completed, full re-assessment of streams underway in East Palestine
16 months after the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, initial cleanup efforts in Leslie Run were completed this week. A full re-assessment of Leslie and Sulphur Runs are now underway to identify any residual oil sheening that needs to be addressed. Sulphur Run is being evaluated first, then crews will move to Leslie Run. This work will continue for several weeks.
