CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — No one wants to think about their own death, but planning ahead for when that time comes is important. Carle Health wants to make that easier.

They’re encouraging people to have those tough conversations with their families. Healthcare agents can also help arrange a power of attorney if you don’t have someone close to you.

Experts say this isn’t just for the older generation.

“We recommend that people over the age of 18 start to think about this and start having those conversations early on. Even if they don’t complete the advanced directives, at least they would have discussed this with a trusted person,” said Advance Care Planning Program Coordinator Ashley Buckley.

Carle is traveling to different communities to spread the word. Thursday, they will be in Danville. For more information, click here .
