The Dallas Cowboys brought free-agent wide receiver Zay Jones in for a visit to The Star on Wednesday, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report .

Dallas is looking for another veteran receiver to fill the team's No. 3 receiver spot after Michael Gallup was released this offseason and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.

105.3 The Fan's Cowboys insider, Bobby Belt, was running through potential wideouts the Cowboys could still bring in this offseason and mentioned Jones as one of the most intriguing ones.

"Zay Jones is a decent receiver, will be 29 years old next season. [He has a] really good pedigree as a former second-round pick. [He's] somebody who [has had everything click] a little bit later in his career," Belt said on Shan and RJ.

The Buffalo Bills selected Jones with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2017 draft out of East Carolina. After failing to meet expectations in Buffalo, he was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021 for a fifth-round pick. Jones showed some promise in his third and final season with the Raiders, posting 47 catches for 546 yards and one touchdown. The production resulted in him getting a 3-year, $24 million deal from the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022.

Jones had a breakout season that year, posting 82 catches for 823 yards and five touchdowns, but took a backseat in 2023 (9 games, 34 catches, 321 yards, 2 TDs) and was released this offseason.

Jones previously visited with the Titans and Cardinals this offseason but has yet to agree to a deal.

The Cowboys currently have CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, and sixth-round pick Ryan Flournoy in their receiver room.

Jones is the son of former Cowboys' three-time Super Bowl-winning linebacker Robert Jones, and was born in Dallas while his father played for the Cowboys.
