DALLAS (KDAF) — Texas drivers have found themselves on the list of worst drivers in the nation. A new study says the city has found itself in the top 20.

Car accidents remain the leading cause of death for Americans one to 54-years-old, and there were 40,990 fatalities in 2023. Munley Law released a study ranking Texas in the 19th spot for worst drivers in the nation.

The study analyzed nine metrics from the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration including traffic fatalities, drunk driving, DUI arrests, speeding, seat belt use and more.

Texas’ data showed 14.08 traffic fatalities, 195.29 DUI arrests, 5.56 drunk driving fatalities and 4.57 speeding fatalities. When it came to the deadliest highways, Texas came in second place with I-14, according to the study.
