Local Roundup: Dallas’ Brunn sets school volleyball record

Junior Carter Brunn broke the school record for kills in a single game with 32 as Dallas defeated Tunkhannock 3-2 Monday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys volleyball.
Dallas won the opener 25-16 and then Tunkhannock came back with wins of 25-21 and 25-20. The Mountainers closed out the match with wins of 26-24 and 15-12.
Brunn also had 19 digs, nine blocks, two aces and four service points. Cameron Faux finished with 22 kills, 26 digs, three assists, three blocks, two aces and five service points. Christopher Miller had 19 assists and five digs.
Marcus Binner had 20 assists, 13 kills and eight service points for Tunkhannock. Zachary MacBain had 16 kills and Tyler Shygelski added 10.
Also for Tunkhannock, Logan Zdaniewicz had 20 assists and Luke Hutchins had 14 service points.
Isaac Drake (12 kills), Ryan Supancik (17 assists, 7 aces) and Joey Heller (6 aces) paced the win.
Hazleton Area 3, Berwick 1
Hazleton Area won by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 12-25, 25-19.
Shawn Hill (30 assists, 1 attack, 2 block, 11 digs, 14 service points) and Kendrick Ortiz (7 kills, 5 blocks, 11 digs, 3 service points) led Hazleton Area.
For Berwick, Josh Kishbaugh had 15 digs, Ethan Lear had 10 service points, Jayden Rivera had eight kills and two blocks and Chris Reyes had six kills.
Holy Redeemer 3, Blue Ridge 2
Holy Redeemer outlasted Blue Ridge 25-12, 17-25, 14-25, 25-23, 15-6.
Top players for Redeemer were Joshua Rocha (22 kills, 4 blocks, 2 assists, 9 digs, 7 points), George Sabatini (15 kills, 2 blocks), Jack Wasiakowski (44 assists, 4 kills, 4 digs, 10 points) and Mike Dubaskas (8 kills, 3 blocks).
Blue Ridge’s Connor Cranage had 23 kills.
BOYS LACROSSE
North Pocono 6, Bellefonte 3
Riley Moore had two goals and three assists for North Pocono.
Brady Mapes had two goals and an assist. Tate Brown and Gavin Phillips each had a goal. Stephen Cardamone made six saves.
Seton Catholic Central 13, Scranton Prep 12
The Cavaliers fell in overtime to Seton Catholic Central.
Will McPartland had three goals and an assist for Scranton Prep. Finn Kane scored three times. Liam Barrett had two goals and three assists. Quinn Lynett added a goal and two assists.

Southern Lehigh 20, Crestwood 9
Jackie Gallagher had five goals for Crestwood in its non-conference loss.
