Local roundup: Long, Greco reach career milestones in Dallas boys lacrosse victory

LJ Long and Noah Greco both tallied their 100th career points as the Dallas boys lacrosse team rolled through Wilkes-Barre Area 13-1 on Thursday.
Long had two goals and two assists, while Greco had two assists to reach the 100-point milestone. Andrew Machulsky led Dallas with three goals.
Brody Reh had the lone Wilkes-Barre Area goal, assisted by Conner Losito. Jimmy Gryskewicz made 30 saves for the Wolfpack.
Tunkhannock 10, Holy Redeemer 8
Ethan Ergott scored four times to help Tunkhannock get past Holy Redeemer. Colby Dancheck had three goals for the Tigers, while goalie Brian French made 11 saves.
Joey Lipinski had a big day for Holy Redeemer, scoring six goals and assisting on one more to lead the Royals.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Wyoming Seminary 9, Lewisburg 6
Ellie Kersey scored five goals to lead the Blue Knights to a non-conference win over District 4’s Lewisburg.
Kersey added an assist, as well. Laine Cabell, Kylie Romanchick, Emerson Swartz and Sara Williams each scored once for Wyoming Seminary.
Wyoming Area 16, Wilkes-Barre Area 5
A monster game for Jules Gonzales led Wyoming Area past the Wolfpack. Gonzales had nine goals and added three assists, while Addison Byers added five goals for the Warriors.
Anna Vitali and Elizabeth Pachucki had two goals each for Wilkes-Barre Area.
Scranton Prep 7, Lake-Lehman 3
Prep fought off a strong effort from Lake-Lehman to pull away with the victory. Alexa Kleinberger led the Classics with three goals.
Sara Womach had two goals for Lake-Lehman, while Cadence Rindock made seven saves for the Black Knights.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Wilkes-Barre Area 3, Dallas 0
The Wolfpack’s strong season continued Thursday with a sweep of Dallas. Set scores were 30-28, 25-18 and 25-17 all in favor of Wilkes-Barre Area.
Jordany Rodriguez had 15 kills and 18 digs to lead Wilkes-Barre. Jesus Vazquez Jr. and Yelysei Nedzelskyi had 14 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Wolfpack.
COLLEGES
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Misericordia 5, Lebanon Valley 3
The Cougars punched their ticket to the MAC Freedom championship match with a semifinal win over Lebanon Valley.
Brianna Pizzano, Lydia Barbour and Isabella Aniska were all double-winners for the Cougars, who will face top-seeded Stevens on Saturday.
BASEBALL
Wilkes 3, Marywood 2
The Colonels won their final road game of the season, hanging on to beat Marywood.
Nathan Loch had three hits for Wilkes, scoring once and driving in a run as well. Zach Lloyd threw six scoreless innings to earn the win for Wilkes.
SOFTBALL
DeSales 4, Misericordia 2
Misericordia dropped their opening game in the MAC Freedom Tournament to third-seeded DeSales. The Cougars allowed all four runs to score in the third inning after three costly errors.
Bridget Doherty, Nikki Elliott, Casey Funesti and Emily Susanj all had two hits for the Cougars, who will next take on FDU-Florham in an elimination game at 2 p.m. on Friday.
TRACK AND FIELD
King’s women in first
The Monarchs women’s team currently sits in the lead with 23 team points after the first day of the MAC Championships. Misericordia is in third place with 10 points.
King’s had a strong day in the hammer throw, taking four of the eight podium spots with Katey Shoemaker’s 47.30-meter toss good for second place. Victoria Zultevicz leads the heptathlon after the first day with 2,466 points.
On the men’s side of the competition, Misericordia is in fifth place with eight points, while King’s has yet to get on the board.
