A 2021 moped was going north on US-321, highway patrol said. A 2022 Jeep was also going north when the moped made an improper lane change and hit the Jeep.

The driver and passenger of the moped were both ejected and transported to a local hospital. Authorities say the passenger, 39-year-old Jessica Nicole Rhea, died when she arrived. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

The driver of the moped, 33-year-old Tyrone James Guiles, is charged with felony death by motor vehicle. Highway patrol believes impairment was a factor in the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
