Cobb Police Fatally Shoot Man Driving Stolen Truck
Cobb County Police Department officers fatally shot a man who was driving a stolen truck Friday in Mableton, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI said 40-year-old Clifford Jacoby Beck of Griffin, Georgia, was killed by police while attempting to flee after officers boxed in the truck he was driving. No officers were injured. Driver clocked at 30 mph over posted speed limit
MILTON, Ga. — Police arrested a 41-year-old Smyrna man for driving nearly 30 mph above the posted speed limit on Morris Road May 7. When police stopped the suspect in his Toyota Scion, the suspect said he was delivering lunch to his daughter at school, distracted by his GPS and not paying attention to the 35-mph speed limit, according to the incident report.

Police in Cobb County, Georgia, have arrested former U.S. Postal Service carrier Ebony Williams on charges of theft and forgery. Police saw Williams getting into a car that had been reported stolen. When they approached her, they saw letters scattered around the interior of the car. After getting a warrant, they found ripped-open checks among the mail in the glove compartment and trunk. Police believe Williams stole the checks instead of delivering them.
