    Rain Tapering Off Through the Day

    HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Heavy rain continues to move through the Tennessee Valley. As of 8am, the steady rain is east of I-65.

    A low-pressure system will track to the north of the area with a trailing cold front swinging through.

    Rain will overspread the area. Pockets of moderate to heavy rain are expected. The strongest will be capable of producing localized flooding and ponding on the roads. Isolated storms are also in the forecast. The chance for rain showers will continue into the first half of Tuesday.

    Rain totals will range from 0.75 to 1 inch with isolated totals of 2.5 inches. The high totals will be associated with the heaviest rains which may set up near the I-65 corridor.
