Crivitz girls cruise to conference win over Rangers

CRIVITZ — The Crivitz High School softball team grabbed an early lead and coasted to a 12-2 victory over Wausaukee in Tuesday’s Marinette and Oconto Conference game.

The Wolverines never trailed on Tuesday after jumping ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning before adding another run in the bottom of the second.

Madelyn Welty collected three RBIs and hit a double as part of her 2-for-4 day at the plate for Crivitz.

Keaghan Stumbris batted in a run for the Rangers and was one of five Wausaukee batters to record a hit off Isabelle Danielczak, who gave up eight hits, two walks and two earned runs through five innings pitched.

Lydia Schaal tallied a three-hit afternoon while Jessica Luccarini had two base knocks for Wausaukee.

Stumbris was the losing pitcher with a stat line of four innings pitched, 14 hits allowed, 12 runs (10 earned) given up and three walks issued.
