Man convicted of manslaughter for stabbing friend while visiting Lake Charles
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Beaumont man was convicted of manslaughter after prosecutors say he stabbed his friend while visiting Lake Charles in 2016. Joseph Jamaad LeDay, now 35, was high on PCP when he attacked his friend, Wesley Anderson III, who later died, according to prosecutors. Anderson, who was 40, was found lying on the side of Prien Lake Road with stab wounds after midnight on May 14, 2016.
Much quieter for now but more storms possible late in the week
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Monday Recap: Widespread severe weather moved across south Louisiana on Monday, with most of the storm reports focused along the I-10/I-12 corridor extending from Lake Charles all the way to near Slidell. Damaging winds were most common, but at least a pair of tornadoes have been confirmed near Lake Charles as of early Tuesday, with additional confirmations possible in our part of the world as the National Weather Service heads out to conduct damage surveys.

At least one tornado has been confirmed near Lake Charles, Louisiana while at least two people were killed by storms in other parts of the state. A line of storms that moved across Louisiana Monday afternoon left a trail of destruction from Lake Charles to Lafayette.
