Local Tragedy: CPSO Probes Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Claude Hebert Road
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) is currently investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian that took place last night near Claude Hebert Road in Lake Charles. An 11-year-old boy was struck by a small SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Lake Charles Police Department is looking for a blue car involved in a hit-and-run around 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Common and 15th streets. The investigation and evidence from the scene show the vehicle is possibly a blue Toyota Corolla that may have damage to its front right side, Lt. Brenda Treadway said. The pedestrian remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Body of missing boater found in Cameron Parish
CAMERON PARISH, La. (KPLC) - The body of a man who vanished while boating on the Mermentau River has been found. Steven Iguess, 49, of Welsh, did not return home from a deer hunt on Thanksgiving Day. Since then, family members, wildlife and fisheries officials, and sheriff’s deputies had been searching the river near where he was last seen in his aluminum boat.

Two Sulphur women arrested in connection with car robberies
MOSS BLUFF, La. (KPLC) - Two Sulphur women were arrested in connection with several vehicle burglaries in Moss Bluff. On Monday, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call of a stolen vehicle from a home off Gold Finch Way in Moss Bluff. According to Kayla Vincent, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, deputies were told a gun and a debit card had been stolen, in addition to the car.
