Reported Shooting at Residential Development in City False as Police Hoping to Locate, Prosecute Caller
A reported shooting at South Mimosa Lane in Bridgeport proved to be an unfounded incident, but now the question falls back on why it came in and who did it. Although the Harrison-Taylor 911 Media Log shows the call coming at 10:16 a.m. today, the actual calls came to the administrative staff at the Bridgeport Police Department, Chief Mark Rogers said, who forwarded the information immediately to 911.

Urgent Search Underway for Missing 75-Year-Old Man with Dementia in Orlando
The Orlando Police Department has issued an urgent alert regarding Miguel Vera, a 75-year-old resident with dementia, who has been reported missing since early this morning. Vera, described as a man of 5 feet 7 inches in height, weighing 150 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair, was last seen in the vicinity of S. Kirkman Road and Raleigh Street around 2 a.m. He was notably wearing a blue shirt and black pants at the time of his disappearance, according to Orlando Police.

Lewis-Upshur Animal Control pleads for help, hosting emergency adoption event
BUCKHANNON, W.Va (WDTV) - The Lewis-Upshur Animal Control Facility is pleading for the public’s help in adopting its animals. The pound is overflowing after record numbers of dogs and cats have been surrendered and seized, officials said, and if the animals are not adopted, some will lose their lives. Their normal rescue partners are also full, so cats and dogs are not being moved, they said.
Aeronautics Students from Throughout Region Have Fun on Launch Day at Bridgeport City Park
The summer aeronautics class at the Benedum Civic Center wrapped up on Thursday with a trip to the Bridgeport City Park for launch day.
