(WKYT) - It is a silent killer plaguing veterans here in the Commonwealth. “Veterans make up about eight percent of the adult population in the state for the study’s time period, and their representation among suicide deaths were disproportionate, though. They were at 13 percent,” said Dr. Sabrina Brown, a researcher with the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center (KIPRC).

Nelson County man sentenced for bank fraud, money laundering
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A Kentucky man will be serving time for committing bank fraud and money laundering. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, 42-year-old Nelson County resident Wavy Curtis Shain was sentenced to nine years and two months in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $4,455,755 in restitution.
Truck driver pulled from cab left dangling over Kentucky bridge
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A woman has been rescued after the semi she was driving crashed on a bridge Friday, leaving her trapped and dangling over the edge. Officers found the semi on Clark Memorial Bridge, which crosses the Ohio River between Indiana and Kentucky. They believe it had been involved in a crash with three other vehicles.
