Eden woman arrested on outstanding warrant for domestic assault charges
EDEN — Vermont State Police took a 59-year-old Eden resident, Christine Pomer, into custody on May 10 after responding to a family disturbance on East Hill Road. Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 5:22 p.m., where they identified Pomer, who had an active warrant due to a failure to appear for a previous domestic assault charge.

Our Forever Home episode brought us back to the North Country Animal League (NCAL) in marvelous Morristown, Vermont. We were greeted with clearing skies and drier weather, which we took as an omen of how well NCAL is doing. In fact, this shelter in Morristown has been able to help other rescue organizations in the southern United States because of how well adoptions are going. Massachusetts man sentenced for organizing Northeast Kingdom drug ring
Burlington, VT- A Massachusetts man was sentenced to nearly 8 years in prison for selling cocaine and fentanyl in the Northeast Kingdom. Juan Carlos Ortiz, 29, from Springfield, MA, had previously pleaded guilty to the charges of selling drugs between November 2021 and August 2022 under a plea agreement. According to court records, Ortiz organized a group of 13 people in a drug-distributing network that sold mostly in the Northeast Kingdom, including Orleans, Essex, and Caledonia Counties.
