A Crawford County man is headed to prison for being a suspected methamphetamine dealer. Arthur Curtis, 41, of Cuba, pleaded down last week to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. In exchange for his plea, a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm was dismissed. Curtis was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Firefighters in southeast Missouri battled a pair of large wildfires that burned nearly a thousand acres of national forest on Wednesday. According to Mark Twain National Forest personnel, the Beason Hollow Fire was part of a cluster of six fires located 15 miles southwest of Salem and 50 miles northwest of Poplar Bluff. The average meal cost per person in Washington County is $3.09, and many families have a hard time gaining access to meals. The Reviving Hope church of God doesn’t want anyone going hungry.
