FCSO makes narcotics arrests
During the last two weeks, the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office has been taking narcotics offenders off the streets. Last Saturday, a traffic stop was conducted in the Fairfield area. During the stop, the FCSO deputy on the scene noticed that the driver of the vehicle was crushing up something in his hand that was falling in his lap and driver seat. Commish to go out for bids
Freestone County Commissioners saw bids opened for tree cutting and removal, and agreed to go out for bids on a new mini-excavator and also for computer software. The court took action on these matters at their meeting of Friday, May 3. As for the bids on the tree cutting, County Auditor Karen Craddock opened the four bids she had received, which were as follows: • Ryan’s Tree Service $375 per hour; • Solley & Sons - $225 per hour; or $900 for a half day or $1,800 for a whole day; • Philips Tree Service $537 an hour; and • Rutherford Tree Service - $200 an hour. The court members agreed they would need to see the companies’ bids on spread sheets so they can compare their work accurately and make a decision at that time. BIDS ON MINI -EXCAVATOR In other business, the commissioners voted to go out for bids on purchasing a mini-excavator for Precinct 3’s Road & Bridge. BIDS ON SOFTWARE FOR JUDICIAL COURT, COUNTY CLERK Also at Friday’s meeting, the court voted to go out for bids on purchasing computer software for the judicial court and county clerk.
