A Bartlesville man faces multiple felony charges including attempted rape. Slade Sparks was arrested on Monday after he allegedly attempted to sexually assault a woman while she was installing a child car seat in her vehicle. The victim has stated she had never met Sparks before this incident. During his arrest, Sparks refused to comply with questioning from officers and resisted being put in hand cuffs before being forcibly taken to the ground and detained. He has also been charged with sexual battery and resisting arrest.

The Cherokee Nation has teamed up with Pelivan Transit to provide discounted rideshare services to Cherokee citizens and Native Americans in northeast Oklahoma. The service, accessible via the Pelivan app, allows users to book rides in Nowata, Craig, Ottawa, Rogers, Mayes, and Delaware Counties.
