Hatchback driver killed in head-on collision with pickup truck

A hatchback driver was killed in a head-on collision with a pickup truck in Coon Rapids Tuesday evening.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said the crash was reported at 5:42 p.m., when the two vehicles collided near Main Street Northwest and Wedgewood Driver Northwest.

"Indications show that an adult male driving a hatchback motor vehicle was traveling eastbound on Main St NW when it entered the westbound lane and collided head on with a westbound pickup truck," the sheriff's office said.

Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, the man was declared dead.

The man driving the pickup truck and a boy passenger sustained minor injuries, with both taken to a local hospital.

The incident remains under investigation.
